Services
Speech Pathology, or Speech Therapy is a name given to a broad range of therapies.
Cocoon Speech Therapy offers the following services:
● Assessment and therapy for children with language delays
● Diagnosis and therapy for children with articulation difficulties
● Stuttering therapy for children and teenagers
● Vocal nodules / rehabilitation for children
Referrals
The children that I see may be referred by other allied health professionals, maternal and child health nurses, kinder and primary school teachers, general practitioners or paediatricians.
Families are welcome to self-refer and may wish to discuss with their general practitioner, whether the family may be eligible for a management plan that would include a Medicare rebate for some speech pathology sessions.
Teletherapy
The convenience of a therapy session in your own home has become an essential service, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Teletherapy is the name given to therapy services provided via programs such as Skype or Zoom.
Evidence based literature shows that teletherapy can be just as effective as sessions in person, particularly for articulation (speech sound development) and stuttering therapy.
Fee Schedule
Initial consultation $170
I allow 50 minutes for the initial consultation so I can gather a full case history and make a recommendation as to the type of assessment needed. Assessments are charged at the cost of a session fee.
Session fees
30 minutes: $110
45 minutes: $170
Report writing
Assessment report: $180
Summary report: $120
Cancellations
A minimum of 24 hours notice is required for cancellation of an appointment.
Cancellations can be made via phone or email.
The full session fee will be charged for late cancellations and non attendance.
